How CareerEdge protects your interview practice data

What we collect

• Conversation content: Your prompts, responses, and interviewer transcripts are stored to guide future coaching improvements.
• Optional uploads: Job descriptions or supporting materials you provide for context.
• Session metadata: Timing, session identifiers, and technical diagnostics that help us improve reliability.

How we use it

• All practice sessions stay within the CareerEdge product team for research and experience design.
• Transcripts are anonymized before analysis to ensure that people, companies, and situations cannot be re-identified.
• Insights shape future coaching guidance, interviewer personas, and usability refinements.

Data processing partners

CareerEdge uses the following third-party AI services to deliver interview simulations:

• Anthropic Claude API: Powers interview conversation generation and feedback analysis. Anthropic does not train on your data submitted via their API. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and API requests are retained for 30 days for trust and safety purposes, then deleted.
• OpenAI Whisper API: Transcribes voice inputs to text for interview responses. OpenAI retains API data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models.
• Google Cloud Text-to-Speech API: Converts interview responses to speech audio. Uses Sydney, Australia regional endpoint for data residency. Google does not use customer data from Cloud APIs to train their models. Audio requests are processed in real-time and not stored.

Research participation

We may ask for permission to use anonymized practice sessions to improve CareerEdge and contribute to academic research. Review the research explanatory statement for full details.

• Keep yourself safe by avoiding sensitive personal, health, or financial details in practice sessions.
